I agree that Flynn is not a villain like we see in the James Bond movies all crazy like evil. I think he is more like a Magneto type villain where Yes he might be working towards a greater good (at least that is what he believes) but his “end justifies the means” attitude doesn’t always sit right with people. Lucy being one those people. I hope Lucy doesn’t have any relationship with Flynn besides he being the antagonist to her protagonist. I’m Lucy/Wyatt shipper personally.
He's not Lucy's son. We met his mother and half-brother in the moon landing episode
He wants to destroy Rittenhouse, so Wyatt,Rufus and Lucy are working for Rittenhouse to destroy him.
So I'm just now watching "The Capturw of Benedict Arnold" and I'm freaking out bc I don't know what to think about Flynn now. I'm at the part wheee he's talking to Lucy and giving the horses water. I sympathize with him because of his loss, though.
I think he might be Lucy's brother, or is definitely related to her. Maybe her son? That would be interesting
So I believe that Flynn may be a future husband of Lucy's or maybe Wyatt. Flynn is my favorite character and I believe his heart is in the right place but he might not be thinking correctly because of his loss. He is definitely going to become someone who is thought of as a "Good guy" rather than evil. He will possibly die in his fight against rittenhouse but that's just an odd theory. Finally, I believe that since Flynn knows who Wyatt's wife's killer is he may be a friend of Wyatt's. Another weird thing at the end of the Watergate Tapes episode he is standing over a grave with the name "Garcia Flynn" on it or at least on an episode I saw
First of all when I wrote that first sentence meaning that either wyatt or Flynn will be Lucy's Lover
I personally believe that he isn't a villain and that he is just fighting fo his lost loved ones. I don't believe he's Lucy's father; Lucy was born in 1983 and Flynn was born in 1975 - not very possible. I don't think he's her future husband. He is definitely not her son; we already know his mother and so did Rittenhouse when they tried to eliminate him.
Okay so I am convinced that Lucy is in all accounts the wife of Flynn that does in his timeline(Before anyone brings up the red scare dream let me explain).
From the start Flynn has looked at Lucy as if she is a rekindled love. Like he hasn't seen her in years(or alive anyway). If you notice, every time Lucy talks to Flynn she seems lovestruck... even though she may be telling at him she looks mesmerized by him. Flynn is consistently putting himself on the line for Lucy protecting her and if not doing that, risking his ass in attempts to protect her from even Wyatt. He acts as if he's known her a lifetime more than Wyatt and that even Wyatt is a threat. He's seen Wyatt's resolve in regards to Lucy and still steps in at any chance he can... not only because he is a dick at times.
In my opinion only one of two types of people would do this. A son or a husband/fiance/etc. Touching on the theory of her being his mother, this would mean that Lucy would have to be with a man named Flynn as obviously her last name is not that. It also leads you to believe that do to the name Garcia his father is MOST LIKELY Hispanic if some sort. Do you know any man in her life at all(not just romantic) that's hispanic?? I dont. So I believe the mother/son theory to be invalid. In regards to them being significant others though... he acts the part, she acts as if she is star-crossed lovers(Aside from her having to low key dislike him because everyone else does). So they fit the bill emotionally. Now you can go off the journal... What woman do you know to ever give a journal/diary that they dont completely trust with their heart? Flynn on many occasions references old times in his life with his 'wife' that just somehow coincide with characteristics of Lucy. He says they'll make a great team one day. Responds to her like a dog does to its master. All of which I believe to be him hanging onto a past version of his wife and is so determined to keep her alive and pleased that he essentially enslaves himself to her.
My wife and I talked about all of this and I explained that portion of my theory and she was confused how Flynn being a prior hand in the project at Mason Industries tied into my theory so this is how. I think since Flynn and Lucy were married in the future time(or alternate reality) from the timeless timeline that she willed it to him in the future(alt. Reality) after rittenhouse took her out. Rittenhouse has made it explicitly clear they want Lucy gone. Have they shown any more disdain for anyone more than her? So Lucy was the wife, gets killed and Flynn used their time machine to travel back to fix it from earlier, gets lost in the 'Timeless' time line and decides to join Mason Industries to have opportunities to travel back in time to fix what he needs and when they perfect the mothership, steals it for his own vengeance as we all know and that's where the show starts.
Before I do my quick summary I'll explain why I think the red scare dream is irrelevant. I think that maybe in his reality she died much younger than it shows him in the dream(current age), I think the dream(memory) actually occurred a while before hand this giving him time for things to get jumbled up. Yes he knows what she looks like but they say every time you access a memory something about it changes. If that was his most fond memory of Lucy and his daughter then he would think about it a lot thus certain details would change over the years. Perhaps even Lucy's face, even though he obviously knows what she looks like(this actually does happen).
Alright so yeah, I think Flynn and Lucy are married, he goes back to the past to fix it. Gets lost and finds Mason industries to get back on track. Miraculously meets up with Lucy and has to battle negative misinformed stigma to get her to accept him amongst all of the lies.
Anyone e able to find a hole in my theory, I've been looking everywhere for anything that disproves my guess.
I think Flynn is Lucy's husband. Why else would she trust him to give him her diary?
