Joel Bender is a guest character that appears in the episode "Karma Chameleon". He is played by Drew Roy.
Biography
In the original timeline, Bender was a Toledo Express Inn bartender who had a one night stand with flight attendant Claire Gilliam. The two never meet again, but Claire conceives a son by the name of Wes Gilliam. Wes grows up to become a serial killer and murderer of two women.
In the altered timeline, Garcia Flynn tells Wyatt Logan that Wes was the killer of his wife, Jessica Logan, after his cooperation with a scheme to capture Benedict Arnold. Later, Rufus Carlin and Wyatt steal the Lifeboat, to travel to March 19, 1983, to try and prevent Claire and Bender from conceiving to prevent the murder of Jessica. In the incident, Bender accidentally falls and dies when being chased by Wyatt. When Rufus and Wyatt return, two of the women Wes murdered in the original timeline are alive, but Jessica is still dead.
